Chattanooga “candy man” accused of fondling young girls

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee(WDEF) – A man known to sell candy to young children is now accused of inappropriately touching to young girls.

Glenn Kelly, 68, of Chattanooga has been charged with two counts of sexual battery on a children.

According to the arrest report, the incident happened two weeks ago but it wasn’t reported until Sunday.

Kelly reportedly sells candy to children in his neighborhood and has become known for it. But on the day in question, police say he fondled two young girls.

The girls told police they went to his home to purchase candy but while inside his home things reportedly became uncomfortable.

According to the report, Kelly started rubbing on one of the girls and asked her to touch his penis. The girl told police Kelly did the same thing to her. She also reportedly said Kelly took the money she gave him to purchase candy and tried to stick it down her shirt.

That action reportedly prompted the two children to run out of the house and back home.

Chattanooga Housing Authority police arrested Kelly on the 3100 block of Dee Drive.

A judge set his bond at $75,000.

Glen is due in court September 22.
