Chattanooga Connection To Georgia Woman Run Down For Her Purse

Covington, GA (WDEF) – Police now think two suspect in a purse snatching and murder in Covington, Georgia on Monday could be in our area.

65 year old Marsha Johnson was putting goods in her trunk at a Covington Walmart when a car pulled up.

A man got out, grabbed for her purse, but she fought back.

Police say Johnson fell to the ground, and the man got back in his car and ran over her multiple times, killing her.

On Tuesday morning, a credit card from her purse was found in Chattanooga.

Police have surveillance photos, sketches and vehicle descriptions of two suspects in the case.

They also believe the man was involved in a similar robbery in South Carolina.
