Chattanooga Fire Dept. hiring for 2024 academy
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Chattanooga Fire Department is now taking applications for next year’s Fire Academy, which begins in January.
Candidates will participate in a six-month-long fire training academy, where they will have both classroom learning and hands-on experience.
The fire department is looking to hire up to 30 people, aged 21 to 39.
“You don’t have to have any prior experience. We do all our own in-house training ourselves,” said Captain Damien Vinson of the CFD. “What we do want is positive attitudes, commitment to working with others and commitment to working with the community.”
You can apply at Chattanooga.gov.
The applications will only be open for a few months, until they reach their capacity.
