Chattanooga Firefighters get the boot today, and so will you

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Chattanooga firefighters hit the streets on Thursday to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

MDA Ambassador Luke Dotson sent them out this morning.

For the next three days, more than 370 of them will fan out across the city with boots in hand to accept donations.

Last year, they raised more than $80,000, second best in the state.

The money goes to treatments and cures for muscular dystrophy, ALS and related diseases that severely limit strength and mobility, the MDA Care Center at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN, and sending local kids to MDA summer camp at no cost to their families.

Starting today, September 28th, look for Chattanooga firefighters at the following locations:

MDA Ambassador Luke Dotson got to wave the department flag to start the fire trucks off at Station 1 this morning on their Fill the Boot fundraiser for MDA. Behind Luke is his sister Lily, his mother Wendy, and Captain Keith Liles, who is representing the Chattanooga Fire Department and the Chattanooga Fire Fighters Association, Local 820.
