Chattanooga stabbing suspect arrested; charged with attempted murder
Ernest Carthorn, 50, was charged with attempted first degree murder and aggravated assault.
According to police, the stabbing was the end result of an altercation between two men over a woman.
The incident happened reportedly happened on Monday outside the Sugar’s nigh club in the 800 block of Dodson Avenue.
The victim told police he walked outside the club then was hit with a chair. He said he tried to run away but was eventually chased down and stabbed multiple times in the chest.
The victim later identified Carthorn through a photo lineup.
A judge set Carthorn’s bond at $100,000.
