Check out sand sculpture of Luther at Riverbend Beach

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – Visitors to Riverbend Beach can not only visit the News12 booth but see a familiar face, too.
Our very own Luther is immortalized in sand.
The sculptors at Sandtastic made our late friend and colleague the conductor of the Riverbend train.
A fitting tribute for the one of a kind man.
Tammy Zumbrun of TVFCU said, "The credit union philosophy is people helping people, and I think that was Luther’s.  I mean, that is what I remember about him.  He was always doing things to help people connect.  He was such a man of integrity and character and I think it’s important in today’s time that we really honor people like that."
Even though sand sculptor Larry Hudson didn’t know Luther, he felt his legacy.  Hudson said, "I think it’s a fitting tribute.  He looks great.  And people really are, they know who he is and they love him."
Hudson said it took about a day and a half to sculpt the sand portrait of Luther.
