Chemical fire at Charleston plant
BRADLEY COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — Bradley County Emergency Management says a chemical fire occurred early this morning at Lonza Chemical.
Lonza Chemical is in Charleston, Tennessee located at 1200 Lower River Road.
In tweets, the agency said it was a Chlorine Whse fire.
Residents were initially told to stay inside by the Bradley County EMA; however, about an hour after the initial reports, the Bradley County Emergency Management Agency tweeted that the fire was under control.
The agency also said that no product was leaving the site and residents were safe to resume normal activities.

According to their website, Lonza is a major North American manufacturing site for calcium hypocholorite as well as other pool and spa related products. Their website also says they employ 280 people.
