They gathered at Red Clay State Park for a unique history lesson.
The park is in Bradley County, and serves as an interpretive center along the Cherokee Trail of Tears.
The park has a visitors center with a museum inside of it.
It also has a hiking trail.
During their visit, teachers saw a demonstration of a flint knapping technique for arrowheads.
They got a chance to check out a young lady doing traditional finger weaving, which is an old style tradition of the Cherokee and other tribes for making belts.
