Christmas Dinner Held in Polk County for Victims Affected by Tornado

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- The Conasauga Masonic Lodge is hosting a Christmas dinner for those affected by the Polk County tornado and it is currently in full swing.

Organizers say it’s just their small way of giving back to those hit by the tornado that devastated Ocoee.

The event was open to everyone in the community, in particular the first responders who helped pick up the pieces after the storm. Three families who lost everything due to the tornado were also invited to the dinner, and surprised with a visa gift card to help in any way. Plus, Fruit bags, and toys for the children who came were given to families as holiday parting gifts.

Organizers say they had less than a week to put everything together for tonight’s event, and say they couldn’t have done it without the support of the community and donations from local businesses in the area.
