Cleveland truck fire

Cleveland, TN (WDEF) – Northbound traffic on I-75 slowed for a short time Monday afternoon.

That’s after a small commercial truck suddenly burst into flames.

The truck driver was at a red light at exit 20 in Bradley County when the vehicle stalled.

That quickly turned into a major fire with smoke that could be seen for miles.

The Cleveland Fire Department responded.

Cleveland Firefighter Micah Atkins says, "He got out of the vehicle fine. He said that the engine died, and he started noticing some smoke coming from the engine area, and then when he got out he noticed smoke coming from the back of the van, and by the time we arrived on the scene the van was fully involved."

No one was hurt.

Firefighters say they were told the truck was owned by a flooring company.
