Congressman Fleischmann Remembers Nancy Reagan’s Legacy

CHATTANOOGA, (WDEF) – Congressman Chuck Fleischmann weighs in on the death of former First Lady, Nancy Reagan.

She died Sunday at the age of 94.

While Congressman Fleischmann never met Nancy, he did meet her husband, Former President Ronald Reagan.

Congressman Fleishmann remembers the pair fondly.

He says their love story and contributions to society through the anti-drug and Alzheimer campaigns, have left a lasting impact.

Congressman Fleischmann, of Tennessee, adds, “They stayed the course together. When they won togehter, they won together. But they had some of those eaerly losses, and they stayed the course. And then, of course, a tremendous presidency, very elegant first lady. And then I think the Just Say No to Drugs and Alcohol [Campaign] was so important.”

Funeral plans were announced Monday for Nancy Reagan.

She will be buried next to her husband at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California.
