Construction work to begin on Ooltewah-Ringgold Road on May 18

Road work expected on Ooltewah-Ringgold Road has been moved up from the previous date; now to begin on May 18, 2026.
The Collegedale Police Department says locals can expect the following:
• Week of May 18th: Crews will begin addressing several spot repair areas.• Schools: Contractors will try to minimize the impact to the surrounding schools during Hamilton County Schools’ last week of class.• Mainline milling is scheduled to start on the Tuesday following Memorial Day.• Traffic Control: Two message boards have been deployed, and construction signage is planned for installation next Thursday or Friday under a flagging operation.
They ask individuals to use caution when traveling through the area, watch for workers, and expect minor delays. Use alternate routes if possible.
