Controlled burn gets out of hand near Ooltewah

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department says Short Tail Springs and the intersection of Hunter Road and Short Tail Springs was closed due to the fire.

Deputy Chief Stan Hardy says the controlled burn shifted due to the wind.

He says the road was temporarily closed to make sure no cars driving by or singed or had any damage done to them.

He says the fire was safely maintained.
