Copper Basin Medical Center suspends inpatient care, starts GoFundMe

POLK COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Copper Basin Medical Center has started a GoFundMe page to save the hospital.

According to the post, the Copper Basin Medical Center is the only hospital in Polk County and has had to suspend inpatient care as the hospital works to obtain the funds necessary to keep the doors open.

The GoFundMe page has a goal of raising $100,000 for the Medical Center.

According to the Copper Basin Medical Center Facebook page, emergency and outpatient services are still open.

The Go Fund Me story says, “The hospital has fallen on hard times and in the ever competitive world of health care it is becoming increasingly harder for the smaller hospitals to compete effectively and efficiently.”
