CPD officers honored for service at annual awards ceremony

OOLTEWAH, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chattanooga’s best and bravest police officers were honored at the CPD’s Annual Awards Ceremony.

The awards ceremony tonight was held to recognize the hard work of the men and women in the department.

Some of the many award winners tonight included Ethan Lee as Rookie of the Year, Caleb Hargraves as Field Training Officer of the Year, and Ed Buckman as CPD Officer of the Year.

CPD Interim Chief of Police Eric Tucker said that, at the end of the day, it’s only right that everyone’s selfless service be celebrated.

“We want to take this opportunity to honor them and to give credit and to speak to their service to our community,” Tucker said. “It’s also an opportunity for us to say thank you to their families and loved ones who come out and support them.”

Tucker further thanked all of the officer’s families, grateful for all “the good” they do for those who serve.

Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly was also in attendance thanking all of the city’s officers and saying that “despite the national dialogue, we all treasure and appreciate” the service of those in the CPD.
