CVS Beginning to help Vaccinate at Assistant living homes
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn (WDEF) – CVS Health says they will begin to administer COVID-19 vaccines at more than 40,000 long-term care facilities across the country.
The vaccinations will begin on December 28th in 415 skilled nursing and assisted living facilities in Tennessee.
Officials say though they are beginning with long-term care facilities, they also have an agreement to eventually provide vaccines to the general public.
CVS says they believe over the next several weeks we will learn about a clearer plan for widespread vaccinations
“This is going to be an issue over the course of the next 6-8 weeks. Uts going to be an issue over that period of time. Sooner or later we are going to start flowing out lots of vaccinations and get to everybody. I think everybody in the country will be eligible by the time we get to late April early May,” says Troy Brennan, M.D., Chief Medical officer for CVS.
CVS says when they will announce their plans for vaccinating the general public at a later date when they know more.
