Dalton Fire Department battles blaze at West Walnut Ave. Dairy Queen

Dalton, GA (WDEF) – The Dalton Fire Department battles a fire Monday evening at the Dairy Queen on Market Street.
Fire Department Spokesman Bruce Frazier said there are no reports of injuries but the structure is heavily damaged.
To battle the blaze, the Dalton Police Department closed Walnut Avenue between Dug Gap Road and I-75, but it was re-opened shortly after 8:00 pm.
Market Street was also closed Monday evening.
The closures are necessary so DFD workers can run hoses across the road.
There is no estimate for when Market Street will reopen, so Frazier warned drivers to please avoid this area.
We’ll bring you updates as they become available.
