Dalton Police looking for suspect who took money left behind at store

DALTON, Georgia (WDEF) – Dalton Police are looking for a woman they believe took cash at a Walmart Neighborhood Market that wasn’t hers.

It happened on Wednesday, the 9th at the store on West Walnut Ave.

They say a customer tried to get $100 cashback from a self-checkout line.

But there was a lag in the system.

After waiting for awhile, the customer just assumed it wasn’t working and left.

But then they noticed that his debit card had been charged.

The customer went back to the store, which checked security video and found this image.

She was next in line and took the cash when it eventually was spat out of the machine.

They say she then left the store without trying to speak to any employee about it.

She was driving a silver 2003-2007 Toyota Corolla S model sedan.

If you recognize the suspect or have information about this incident, please contact Detective Brian Shirley at 706-278-9085, extension 9185.
