Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountains Rise telethon streaming on WDEF.com

NASHVILLE (WDEF) – Dolly Parton’s telethon for the Sevier County fire victims is streaming tonight at WDEF.com/rise.

The show has already raised half a million dollars before it even goes on the air, thanks to contributions from celebrities like Taylor Swift and Kenny Chesney.

“The donations that are already coming in are so special to me,” Dolly Parton explained. “It means there are a lot of people behind us and ready to help us.

Tonight, the performers include Chris Stapleton, Alison Krauss, Michael W. Smith, Chris Young, Jamey Johnson, Alabama, Lauren Alaina and, of course, Dolly herself.

And if you call the phone bank, you might find a star on the other end of the line.

Kristian Bush, Brett Young, Lee Greenwood, Larry Gatlin, Mark Wills, Paula Dean, comedian Henry Cho and KC from KC and the Sunshine Band are just some of the celebrities manning the phone banks.

Along with cast members from Dolly’s Christmas of Many Colors, and the reality shows Moonshiners and Chrisley Knows Best. Plus members of the Tennessee Titans.

During the telethon, viewers will be asked to call 1-866-CARE MORE to donate to the My People Fund.
