Drive Thru Vaccine Event hosted at The Howard School

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn (WDEF) – Getting vaccinated has never been easier.

On Saturday,  CHI Memorial and Get Vaccinated Chattanooga hosted a free drive thru event for anyone over the age of 18.

The event was held at The Howard School from 9am until 2pm.

Residents who wished to receive their dose of the Covid-19 vaccine were able to drive up without an appointment and get their dose of the Moderna shot.

“We’re excited to be out in the community bringing vaccinations to the people that have been the pretty much underserved communities and individuals who have been disproportionately affected by the pandemic since it hit Hamilton County,” says Katherlyn Geter, County Commissioner District 5.

“We have got to get our numbers up. We are making good progress but until that number of 70-80% of our total population has been vaccinated then we are still vulnerable to this virus. We have to do better. This vaccine is safe,” says Dr. Mary Lambert, Mayor Tim Kelly’s Director of Community Health.

Another drive thru vaccination site is scheduled for May 22nd.

First and second doses will be available.
