Early morning fire on 3rd Avenue

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Chattanooga Fire Department responded to a house fire early Sunday morning on 3rd Avenue.

The call came in just before 3 a.m.

According to Chattanooga Fire Lt. Nick Sewell, smoke and flames were visible near the back of the house when firefighters arrived on the scene.

Chattanooga Fire says the occupants of the home had already made it safely out and firefighters were quickly able to bring the fire under control.

No injuries were reported with the fire, the fire department says.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
