East Brainerd Food City To Close for Several Months

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee. (WDEF) – Food City has been in Chattanooga for two years now, after the purchase of the Bi-Lo stores, and the company is giving its markets a new look.

Food City started with the Saint Elmo store last year–completely changing the appearance outside and the way many products are displayed inside.

The next step, according to company leaders, will be on the east side of the city.

“We are fully committed to the Chattanooga market, you know, we want to grow and excel here and be part of the community. And our latest efforts are over on East Brainerd where we’re going to pretty much completely re-do the store.”

The East Brainerd Food City will close tomorrow for about 3 and a half months while the remodeling is done.

Food City has more than 20 stores in the Chattanooga area.
