East Ridge locals voice concerns over traffic at TDOT public forum

East Ridge, TN (WDEF) – Janie Lockhart has lived in East Ridge for her entire life. She’s seen the city change and grow in ways that may not always be convenient for everyone.

"I mean, we didn’t used to have as much traffic as we do now," said Lockhart, "I think people travel more now. We’re getting more people on the roads, and they’re just getting to the point that they’re so congested you can’t maneuver."

Which is why TDOT hosted an interactive forum Thursday evening, to discuss their 25-year plan and hear feedback from people in the community.  "Our input, I think is important," said Lockhart.

"This is part of TDot’s outreach, to seek input from citizens across the state for the development of our plan. So we always welcome anyone that’s interested in receiving that information," said TDOT transportation planner, Stacy Morrison.

Lockhart said it was her second year attending the forum, and as long as they keeping having them she’ll keep coming, "Every bit of information you get will be helpful."
