UPDATE: East Ridge police make arrest in stabbing investigation

EAST RIDGE, Tenn. (WDEF) – The East Ridge Police Department has made an arrest in the investigation of the aggravated assault case from December 23rd,2017.

Warrants were issued on Joel Jarnagan of Walker County Georgia for two counts of Aggravated Assault.

East Ridge Police worked with the Walker County Sheriff’s Office to locate Jarnagan and take him into custody.

Police await the extradition process to be completed for Joel Jarnagan to be transported back to Tennessee.

East Ridge Police Chief JR Reed would like to thank the Walker County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance and all the officers involved in the initial call to bring this incident to a safe and timely resolution.

EAST RIDGE, Tenn. (WDEF) — The East Ridge Police Department is investigating a stabbing that occurred shortly after a car crash.

It happened on Gleason Circle.

The call came in around 3:40 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

An official with the East Ridge Police Department says the victim was cut during an argument after car hit a house.

Police say the suspect fled the scene, and they are looking for the suspect now.

The East Ridge official says the victim was taken to a local hospital.
