Emily’s List of Weekend Activities – August 25, 2017

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — There’s a lot to do in Chattanooga, and in nearby cities this weekend.

Friday night is the last time you can enjoy the Nightfall Concert Series at Miller Plaza this summer.

The Chattanooga group, Sistren, is the opening performer at 7 p.m.

KP and the Boom Boom is the second band to take the stage a little bit later at 8 p.m.

There will also be food available for purchase.

Beer lovers can enjoy the Southern Brewers Festival Saturday afternoon.

There are more than 30 microbrews to choose from, including Chattanooga’s Big River microbrews, so you’re bound to find a drink you like best.

This festival also features live music, and delicious food.

The event is from 2 to 10 p.m. at Ross’s Landing.

If wine is more your thing, there’s always Wine Fest in Atlanta Saturday afternoon.

You get a chance to sample a wide variety of premium wines from some of Georgia’s best wineries, plus listen to live music.

The festival is from 1 to 8 p.m. at Mason Fine Art.

Dalton is hosting its first BBQ, Blues and Bluegrass Festival this weekend.

The free event is a great place to check out blues and bluegrass music, food and arts and crafts vendors, and a barbeque competition.

There will also be family friendly activities, and a motorcycle contest.

The festival is from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday at the North Georgia Ag Fairgrounds.

You can always check out Songwriters Under the Stars in Nashville Saturday night.

Famous songwriters backed by the Music City Symphony, the Music City Hit-Makers, will perform their hits written for the biggest stars.

Performers include Chris DeStefano, Hillary Lindsey, and Rivers Rutherford.

The event is at the Cheekwood Estate and Gardens from 7 to 10 p.m.
