Emily’s List of Weekend Activities – September 1, 2017

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — There’s a lot to do in Chattanooga, and in nearby cities this weekend.

If you like baseball, you have lots of local games to choose from this holiday weekend.

The Chattanooga Lookouts are taking on the Montgomery Biscuits Friday night through Monday for their last regular games of the season.

You can even enjoy a fireworks show at 11 p.m. after Friday’s game.

Friday and Saturday games start at 7:15 p.m.

Sunday’s is at 6:15 p.m., and Monday’s at 2:15 p.m., all at AT&T Field.

Country fans can get excited about Kane Brown coming to town Saturday night.

The rising country star and Tennessee Valley native is performing a show at the Northwest Georgia Amphitheatre in Ringgold.

Walker McGuire is opening up for Brown.

Gates will open at 5:30 p.m., and the show starts at 7 p.m.

If you’re in the mood for barbeque, Nashville is hosting its 4th annual Old School BBQ Festival on Sunday.

Bring your lawn chair, your dancing shoes and an appetite, while enjoying great food and a view of the Cumberland River.

The event is from 2 to 11 p.m. at Nashville’s Riverfront Park.

And bookworms will enjoy the AJC Decatur Book Festival in Atlanta this weekend.

It’s the largest independent book festival in the U.S., and one of the five largest in the world.

Attendees can enjoy book signings, author readings, cooking demonstrations, and poetry slams.

Activities are happening most of the day on Saturday and Sunday in Atlanta’s Decatur Square.
