End Of Public Works Week Brings Lawnmower Initiatives
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- We’re coming to the end of Public Works week in Chattanooga.
It’s that time of the year when people have the urge to operate heavy equipment.
The Mean Green Products company was hoping the city and large companies would stop and look at their electric grass mowers this week near the First Tennessee Pavilion.
The company is counting on support from environmentalists who want to move away from carbon-based products.
“The environmental aspect… for a homeowner you can mow up to 5-acres and go net-zero on your electrical consumption. Which means you use no fuel whatsoever if you have a 200 watt solar panel a fixed to a structure near the dwelling in which you keep the mower… you can not use any electricity other than the sun,” said Matthew Neal.
Neal says that equipment is also a lot quieter than power mowers.
