Equinox at Midtown Apartments fire under investigation

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — A third floor fire at Equinox at Midtown Apartments on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 is under investigation, according to the Chattanooga Fire Department.

They say the fire was in a bedroom in an apartment at the center of the complex.

Crews worked to protect residents’ properties in apartments on lower floors by placing tarps over furniture and other belongings.

There were no injuries.

They also say someone drove over the supply line at this scene, which is the large hose coming from the fire hydrant that provides water to firefighters fighting the fire.

They say this endangers lives and it’s illegal. Culprits face a citation and fine. You can also damage your car, resulting in costly repairs.
