Erlanger gets neonatology services agreement with Vanderbilt
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)– Officials with Children’s Hospital at Erlanger say a management services agreement for Neonatal Intensive Care Unit services with Vanderbilt will provide a higher amount of staff.
Erlanger officials say the decision to give a management contract to Monroe Carell Junior Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt was based on the fact they share similar quality goals and achievements.
Erlanger will still employ the neonatology physicians and nurse practitioners in the Neonatal ICU.
Don Mueller, the Children’s Hospital at Erlanger CEO, says with this agreement babies and parents will notice positive changes.
“What they will notice is that the new contract with Vanderbilt will provide a higher number of physcians, neonatologists during the day and during the night at our main campus as well as East. So you will see more providers at the bedside, an increase in communication with our parents,” Mueller said.
The change will start in December.
