CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Summer Outreach Safety (SOS) Fest will return for its fourth consecutive year in a row on May 30th from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Carver Community Center.

They say the free public health and safety event is an effort to provide local communities with health and safety education during the summer months. It will cover a variety of topics to ensure families are well equipped with firearm safety, fire prevention, water safety, elderly care, driving safety, and more.

“SOS Fest is how we like to kick off the summer season; music, games, food, and door prizes, all while educating our neighbors on how to have a safe summer season. It’s our own little safety block party!”

– Erlanger Adult Trauma Injury Prevention Coordinator, Regena Young said.

Blood Assurance will also host a blood drive to help address the decrease typically seen in donations throughout the summer season. Those interested in donating can register at this link: www.bloodassurance.org/sosfest.

Food trucks will be available, as well as a DJ, a Radio Remote, and over 25 other exhibitors.

Bingo cards will be given out to encourage people to stop at all exhibitors. Those who visit at least 25 exhibitors will be entered to win a door prize. Winners for door prizes will be drawn every hour.

This is a multi-organization effort is made possible in partnership with Erlanger Health, the Chattanooga Fire Department, the Chattanooga Police Department, the Chattanooga Office of Community Health, Chattanooga Office of Arts Culture & Creative Economy, and the Chattanooga Department of Community Development.
