Pet of the Week: Popeye

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Join us at Prime News at 7 to meet this week’s Pet of the Week: Popeye!

Popeye is a 4-year-old, 37 lbs. mixed breed terrier that likes long walks, cuddling, birdwatching, belly rubs, playing fetch, and treats.

While not a fan of other pets, Popeye LOVES people! He’s always excited to meet a new friend, and will invite you to play or snuggle, instantly wanting to be besties. In fact, he doesn’t seem to have much of a concept of personal space, and so we hope you like cuddles!

While he was in foster care for a shelter break, his favorite things to do included watching out the window for birds and critters, playing fetch in the yard, and spend quality time with his humans.

He is housebroken, crate trained, and knows some basic obedience, though he’s very treat motivated and always up to learn more skills!

Popeye loves to be right by your side. His perfect forever home would be one where he was the only pet in the household with an owner who is home often and loves a snuggle buddy.

He would likely do well with school-aged kiddos and up, and will be a fantastic companion for a lucky person or family!
