Falcons Julio Jones Off to Flying Start Leading NFL in Receiving
FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) – Talk about making up for lost time.
After missing most of last season with a foot injury, Julio Jones of the Atlanta Falcons is leading the NFL in receiving yards and already has made what will surely go down as one of the catches of the year – a twisting touchdown grab against Tampa Bay.
Jones says his biggest goal is staying healthy for the entire season. If he does, this figures to be the best one yet for the fourth-year player. He’s got 23 catches for 365 yards and three touchdowns as the Falcons (2-1) prepare to face Minnesota on Sunday.
Teammate Roddy White says Jones’ progress since his rookie year is "night and day." Jones agrees that he’s much more knowledgeable about all aspects of the passing game.
