Family Asks for Help to Find Missing 14 Year Old Girl
Family members of 14-year-old Adriana Elmore are devastated after they said she disappeared from her home on Buttercup Lane in Ringgold sometime between 11 p.m. Sunday night and 6 a.m. Monday morning.
Deputies think she might have been trying to "cross the mountain" based on statements made to her siblings, "She’s been asking questions on how to get over the mountains-so they think that that’s where she has headed," said Elmore’s grandmother, Susan Elmore.
After searching for hours on foot, and via social media, a helpful tip came in from someone who spotted Elmore at Providence Ministry in Dalton. Surveillance footage shows the young girl walking in around 9:03 in the morning, and leaving shortly after.
Elmore also suffers from Asperger Syndrome, a developmental disorder affecting a person’s ability to socialize and communicate.
"She would not necessarily go up to strangers. So that could complicate things even more," said Sheriff Gary Sisk with the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office, "Someone who may be offering her some assistance, she may run away."
Members of the Elmore family say right now they’re relying on their faith to help bring their little angle back home.
Anyone with any information on Elmore’s whereabouts is urged to call 423-935-2323, to reach the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office, or dial 911 for your local law enforcement.
