Where to find National Night Out locations in Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Chattanooga Police will celebrate National Night Out at several locations across the city tonight.

The event was started in 1984 nationally to fight crime on the neighborhood level.

It now includes more than 16,000 communities across the country.

Some cities celebrate in August, and some wait for the first Tuesday in October, like Chattanooga.

10 community groups in the CPD’s Charlie South sector will get together at Eastdale YFD AT 1312 Moss St from 5-8 pm.

Adam North meets at Brooks Memorial (1534 Mercer St) from 6-9 pm.

Adam South will be at a block party in St. Elmo between Old Mtn. Road and Tennessee Ave. from 6-9 pm.

Clifton Hills will be at 3300 Brannon Ave. between 6:30-8:30 pm.

Baker North, including Avondale, Glenwood, Lincoln Park, Ridgedale & Glass House, meet at Notre Dame High (2701) Vermont Ave. from 6-9 pm.

Baker South including Ferger Place meets at 1725 E. 17th street between 6-9 pm.

Missionary Ridge is at Old Fire Hall #11 on Sheridan Ave from 6-8 pm.

East Lake is at the park from 6-8 pm.

Charlie North meets at the Lake Hills Park (4395 Bellview) from 6-8 pm.

Murray Hills and the Lake communities are going to the Murray Hills Walking Track at 4131 Melinda Dr. between 6-8 pm.

And the Shepherd Community Action Council meets at the Shepherd Rec. Center from 6-9 pm.
