Fire destroys home

UPDATE: The fire at 1018 Line St. displaced three adults. Volunteers with the American Red Cross of Southeast Tennessee have been called to the scene to assist the family with essentials, such as a temporary place to stay and help with food, clothing and medicine. The cause of the fire remains unknown.

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF)- Chattanooga firefighters confirm a fire destroyed a residential home Sunday afternoon.

It happened at 1018 Line St.
The homeowner has not been found yet, but her three dogs were. Two of the three dogs are heavily burned but have non-life threatening injuries.
Chattanooga firefighters tell us the house is now a danger to the community and will have to be torn down.
Officials say the homeowner is a woman who appears to be a hoarder.
Firefighters tell us the house was also heavily renovated, which helped to spread the flames faster.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
Officials confirm the flames are now under control.
