Fire at vacant apartment building under renovation

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Chattanooga firefighters fought a blaze at a vacant apartment unit in East Chattanooga on Wednesday night.

The fire was called in after 9PM on Fisher Avenue at the foot of the ridge near Notre Dame High.

Firefighters found flames coming from upstairs and downstairs of the apartment.

They were able to keep the fire from spreading to others.

The complex is under renovation and had no power to the building.

The cause is under investigation.
