Firefighter injured in Infantry Road house fire

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Chattanooga Fire Department was called to Infantry Road Sunday afternoon on reports of a house fire.

Captain Wadie Suttles said that firefighters arrived to find a one-story, vacant house with heavy fire showing from the front.

Chattanooga fire officials say the fire was under control in about 30 minutes.

According to the department, one firefighter sustained “a few burns” and was treated and released from a local hospital.

Fire officials estimate the loss at $10,000; the cause of the fire is under investigation.
