Chattanooga firefighters battle multi-unit blaze on Amsterdam Lane

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Chattanooga Fire Department responded to a multi-unit residential fire Thursday around dinnertime.

It broke out at 2846 Amsterdam Lane in East Brainerd.

First responders arrived on scene shortly after 5:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Chattanooga Fire Department units arrived found a multi-unit residential fire.

The arriving fire units determined the unit was 50% involved with fire in the attic and rear of the structure.

Captain Chuck Hartung said firefighters used hand held fire hoses and an elevated water stream to contain the fire.

The fire was called control at 6:27 p.m. Thursday.

The blaze appears to have started in the end unit.

Firefighters say there was minimal damage to the attached unit.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Officials estimate the dollar amount of the loss is $150,000.
