Firefighters rescuing drivers stuck in flooding

HAMILTON COUNTY,  Tennessee (WDEF) – First responders continue to get calls about people stuck in flooding in the Middle Valley and Dallas Bay areas.

Chattanooga Firefighters rescued drivers in back-to-back incidents Wednesday Afternoon.

The first was a car that failed to make it across Lower Mill Road when it stalled.

Firefighters waded out to get two people out of the car.

Just minutes later, a second call came in on School Drive.

In that case, the driver went around barricades but the vehicle stalled out in the water.

Dallas Bay firefighters had to get a boat to rescue the driver.

Earlier in the day, they responded to a submerged vehicle on Boy Scout Road.

County officials report road closings due to flooding on Bonny Oaks Drive, Shallowford Road, Jersey Pike, and Culver Street.

Also Roberts Mill Road up Signal Mountain has been closed by a mudslide.
