Food City Gives Back to Families
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- 10 families are guaranteed a wonderful holiday dinner this weekend, thanks to Food City.
The food chain teamed up with Dietz and Watson, along with WSKZ to bring Families Helping Families to our area.
It’s an event that honors 10 families with any military background and first responders, as a way to say thank you for all they do.
More than 100 people were nominated, but in the end only five families from Chattanooga, and five families living in the tri-cities area were given a holiday ham and a Food City gift card.
“Well I think it’s such a great event, because it really gives the families, the friends, the opportunities to recognize their own. We can go out and do a lot of things as a company, but when they–when they get nominated from their own, that’s very special,” said David Haaf, who is the Deli Bakery Director of Food City.
This was the first year for Families Helping Families, but organizers say they hope it continues and turns into an annual event.
