Former Ooltewah Coach Scott Chandler Gets Head Football Job at Tyner

After a few months of upheaval, Tyner finally has a new football coach. Former Ooltewah coach Scott Chandler has taken the job after Tyrus Ward resigned last month. Ward had the gig for only a couple of months after replacing long-time Tyner coach Wayne Turner. Now it’s Chandler’s turn to conduct the Ram Train.

Said Chandler: “It’s exciting going to a program that’s been so successful. Hey, I can’t replace Wayne Turner. That guy is a living legend, won millions of games. I just hope I go in and keep it going maybe up close to his level.”

Chandler was 16-16 in his three seasons at Ooltewah.
