Fort Oglethorpe PD, GBI investigating death of 18-month-old found in apartment pool

FORT OGLETHORPE, Ga. (WDEF) – Fort Oglethorpe Police and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) are investigating the death of a 18-month-old boy found unresponsive in an apartment pool.

The call came in Sunday around 4 p.m. for an unresponsive child found at Oglethorpe Ridge Apartments off Cloud Springs Road.

The child was taken to Hutchenson Medical Center and later transported to T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital where he died later that evening.

The child, Noah Livingston Smith, was living at 1007 Oglethorpe Ridge Lane, in Fort Oglethorpe.

The child will be taken to the GBI Medical Examiners’ office in Decatur, Georgia, where an autopsy will be performed in accordance to Georgia State Law.
