Foundation House Ministries expanding to Ooltewah
Ministry for moms and pregnant women in crisis is based in Cleveland
CLEVELAND, Tennessee (WDEF) – Foundation House Ministries is expanding into the Ooltewah area.
The nonprofit that provides supports to mothers and pregnant women who are facing struggles with addiction, homelessness and joblessness, is based in Cleveland.
They have now opened a satellite office in the Hope Center of Ooltewah Baptist Church on Main street.
That office is for nonresidential clients who still need support.
The organization says the new space will allow them to serve 60 more women and their children each year.
Executive Director Suzanne Burns says more than half of the calls they get come from the Chattanooga area, but only about 10% of them can get to Cleveland.
“We try to provide a wide range of resources for the mothers in our program, but that becomes more difficult when their support systems are located in Chattanooga. They would need a car to get to and from our office in Cleveland and it could be hard to maintain a
relationship with the program due to busy work, childcare, court, or school schedules,” said Burns.
