People are getting used to the idea of eating out or taking out for Thanksgiving
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – If you’ve been shopping for Thanksgiving meal ingredients, you know how inflation is impacting the traditional holiday meal.
We’re seeing double-digit price increases in turkey, potatoes, stuffing, canned pumpkin and other staples this year.
Turkey prices, alone, are up about 28%.
So some experts say families may find it cheaper to eat out this year instead of cooking a big meal for themselves.
Over the years, Americans have warmed more to the idea of either eating out or, at least, taking out some of the big meal.
We take you back into our Archives 40 years, for a Thanksgiving meal that was beginning to get a little less traditional.
