Fun this fall at Rock City’s Rocktoberfest

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. Experience unmatched views and stunning fall foliage at Rock City’s German-themed harvest festival, Rocktoberfest!

The 12th annual event offers a variety of entertainment and delicious food from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday, October 7-29.

Rocktoberfest hosts live German music from The Wurstbrats and The Musik Meisters, as well as dance performances set to German and Bavarian folk music – and even polka lessons for guests to partake in!

Kids receive an adventure passport upon entering the park from two new scarecrow characters! The passport holds activities, coupons and pages for children to collect stamps during their visits throughout the year. Other one-of-a-kind characters to meet along the way are the fall fairy, Ik the Troll King, a mime and Rocky the Elf!

A must-see at Rocktoberfest are the popular Birds of Prey Shows at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Other special offerings include pumpkin painting, interactive caricatures and geode digs!

Stop by the pavilion for German food such as bratwursts and beer cheese soup, or try a Rueben and slice of German chocolate cake in the Big Rock Grill from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Café 7 is also featuring a German dish, wienerschnitzel, and is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Set out on a guided heritage tour at 9 a.m., 12 p.m. or 3 p.m. to learn about Rock City’s founder Frieda Utermoehlen Carter and her love of German folklore and fairytales!

Rock City is one of the south’s most popular natural attractions. Known for its unique geological and botanical wonders, the enchanted 4,100-foot walking trail is a true marvel of nature featuring massive ancient rock formations, a 140-foot waterfall that cascades down Lookout Mountain and the Swing-A-Long Bridge that spans nearly 200 feet.
