Gary Simpson makes first court appearance
ROGERSVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Gary Simpson appeared in court, Monday, May 16, 2016 for his first appearance since the disappearance of Carlie Trent.
That’s according to a report from our sister station in Knoxville.
WVLT reports Simpson has been at the Hawkins County Jail since Thursday, after a week-long search for him and Carlie.
Simpson is being held on a $1 million bond. He is facing especially aggravated kidnapping and custodial interference charges.
Simpson told a judge on Monday that he didn’t understand the kidnapping charges against him.
