UDPATE: GBI called in for death investigation in Ringgold

RINGGOLD, Ga. (WDEF) – The Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office has released more information on the body found in Tiger Creek behind the Ringgold sewage treatment plant this morning.

Catoosa County Sheriff Gary Sisk says indications are that it is an accidental drowning, but an autopsy is being performed.

Sheriff Sisk says the deceased is a 77-year-old Ringgold resident. Further identification is being withheld pending notification of kin.

RINGGOLD, Ga. (WDEF)- The GBI agents and crime scene specialists are responding to a death on Depot Road.

Catoosa Sheriff’s Deputies are on scene blocking the road to the water treatment plant.

Catoosa Sheriff Gary Sisk says they are investigating a body found in Tiger Creek at the end of the nature trail behind the Ringgold sewage treatment plant.

He says it is too early in the investigation for any further details.

Fire crews left the scene shortly after we arrived on scene.
