Dallas, GA (WDEF) – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was requested by the Dallas Police Department to investigate an officer involved shooting yesterday evening at the 200 block of Park Street.

Preliminary information provided by Dallas authorities indicates that at approximately 11:07pm, two Dallas PD officers responded to a hit and run incident at East Cooper and Park Street. Upon arriving in the Park Street area, the subject’s vehicle was located. The driver initially complied, but as officers approached, he attempted to run over the officers. Both officers fired multiple times, striking the vehicle and then gave chase. The vehicle wrecked in the 1500 block of Industrial Boulevard North. Officers deployed a Taser and took Cody McKenzie, 25, into custody.

It was determined that McKenzie had a wound to his right arm and was transported to Kennestone Hospital where he was treated for his injuries and released into the custody of the Dallas Police Department.
