Georgia suspends gas tax effective today
The suspension will last through the end of May to lower gas prices
ATLANTA, Georgia (WDEF) – Governor Brian Kemp has signed a bill into law on Friday suspending the gas tax in Georgia temporarily.
The change goes into effect immediately and will last through May.
That should, theoretically, knock 29 cents off the price of a gallon of gas.
But it is up to the gas sellers to actually set the prices.
The change could take several days to actually filter through to your gas pump.
The tax suspension passed both the Georgia House and Senate, unanimously.
