Georgia woman dies in I-75 crash

WHITFIELD COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) — A single-vehicle crash happened on I-75 Monday, killing one person.

It happened just before 2 p.m. at the Carbondale exit near Dalton.

Georgia State Patrol identified the victim as Lynn Ann Fleming of Buford, Georgia. She was a passenger in the 2020 Toyota Highlander, according to GSP.

The Toyota was traveling south in the middle lane of I-75.

A metal pipe broke through the front passenger side of the windshield, GSP said.

They added that the pipe impaled Fleming in the neck.

GSP pronounced her dead on the scene.

The interstate was shut down for around one hour. Lifeforce was on scene giving treatment to those involved.

Authorities are still investigating at this time.
